What is a BMW Courtesy Service Loaner or Demonstrator Vehicle?
BMW Courtesy Service Loaner Vehicles, often referred to as courtesy cars, are dealer-owned models used exclusively for business purposes. These vehicles are provided as temporary transportation for BMW owners whose cars are in the service center for extended periods. They're carefully maintained, gently driven, and kept in top condition by the dealership's expert service team.
BMW Demonstrator Vehicles-also called demo vehicles-are new BMWs driven by dealership staff such as managers, salespeople, or executives. While they may have accumulated some mileage, these vehicles have never been titled or registered with the state, meaning they are not legally classified as "used."
What Makes These Vehicles Unique?
A general rule of thumb:
If a vehicle has been titled or registered, it is legally considered used.
Courtesy loaners and demo vehicles have never been registered, but because they've been driven (either as part of the dealership's courtesy fleet or for test drives), manufacturers require that they be sold as "like new" vehicles.
