?The auto industry is an ever-changing and sometimes confusing industry. When you add automotive recalls into the mix things just get ever more confusing. However, we at Patrick BMW always have your needs in mind and if your vehicle is affected by a recall, we can help.
What is a recall?
The first thing to address when talking about recalls is actually defining what a recall is in the automotive industry. A recall is when the manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identifies that something relating to your vehicle could create a safety risk or does not meet minimum safety requirements. This means that manufacturers must fix the problem by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund or even repurchasing the vehicle.
The NHTSA will monitor each safety recall to make sure that vehicle owners receive notification of the recall. If you have registered your vehicle, your car’s manufacturer will notify you of the recall via a letter in the mail.
If you do in fact receive a notification that your vehicle has a recall, give us at Patrick BMW a call and we will get started right away on servicing your vehicle.
